Academic Wellbeing


The academic load in medical school can be a difficult and demanding. Students may seek academic assistance to identify their learning styles, and/or to analyze their study skills and test taking techniques. The Office of Academic Services, located in the Student Affairs Suite at Queen Lane, provides individual and group tutoring and a number of other academic support services and resources.

The Office of Student Academic Support Services

The Office of Student Academic Support Services offers a variety of resources to help students learn as efficiently and effectively as possible. Our goal is to support all students as they adapt their study skills, test taking strategies and personal habits to the demands of medical education. We understand that the amount of material and the pace of the curriculum can present difficulties for many students, and our office is committed to working with students through those challenges.

Academic coaching and advising give students the opportunity to focus on developing the skills and strategies that will help them be successful at Drexel College of Medicine.

The Office of Academic Support work with students on any topic related to being successful academically, including study skills, time management, navigating Medical School, organization skills, test-taking, overcoming test anxiety, preparing for USMILE Board Examinations, etc.

Peer Tutoring
The Peer Tutoring Program is designed to provide an additional level of academic support to students in the pre-clinical and clinical years. The peer tutors provide both individual and group tutoring.

How to Make a Tutoring Appointment
All tutoring appointments for the Office of Academic Support Peer to Peer Tutoring Program must be made in Accudemia more than 24 hours in advance. Appointments cannot exceed 2 hours per course, per week unless approved by the Director of Academic Support or recommended by the Course Director.
