Computer Help for College of Medicine Students, Faculty and Staff

There are several Information Technology (IT) support groups at Drexel.  When you need help with a problem, a password reset, a hardware problem, a problem accessing the online resources...you need to know where to go to get help.

Following is a description of what each of these groups is responsible for and how to contact them.  If you are unsure, then contact us at time@drexel.edu and we will help you figure out whom to contact.


COM-IT (College of Medicine IT)
COM-IT manages the network and server infrastructure for the College of Medicine. It also maintains an e-mail system for faculty and staff (but not students) - @DrexelMed.edu.

Faculty and staff who need assistance with their DrexelMed accounts or with general computer hardware and software support issues should contact the DrexelMed Technology Support Center for assistance.

Walk in support is also available at the Queen Lane campus for College of Medicine students, faculty and staff. COM-IT staff can assist in resolve notebook computer problems, setting up software, and wireless access among other things.

Drexel IRT (Information Resources and Technology)
The University's IRT group maintains the University's core networking and server infrastructure, including DrexelOne, and provides e-mail accounts for students in the College of Medicine - @Drexel.edu. IRT also manages the University username and passwords, which are needed to access DrexelOne and some other web resources.

Students who have trouble logging into their e-mail accounts, or anyone who has trouble logging into DrexelOne, should contact this group.

Technology in Medical Education (TIME)
The TIME group in the College of Medicine Dean's Office develops and supports educational applications. This group can answer questions and help resolve problems with the specific websites on Webcampus and applications that we develop for the medical school curriculum. In addition we work with faculty to help develop course web sites and other online resources.

Academic Information and Systems (AIS)
The Academic Information and Systems group is a centralized department that serves the academic and administrative units of Drexel University. AIS Systems Analysts maintain the academic systems and are responsible for accurate and timely information dissemination to the University community. The AIS Department serves as a liaison between the Information Resources and Technology Department (IRT) and the end-users throughout the University. AIS supports the following applications, among others: Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid, Hyperion (Brio) Reporting.
