About Computer Accounts and Policies

Activate your Account
If you have not yet done so, please activate your computer account by going to
www.drexel.edu/computeraccounts and clicking on "Pick up your first accounts". To activate your account, you need to be registered in the Banner Student Information System, which will occur approximately one month prior to orientation. After that time, you can go to the IRT Computer Accounts Management page, and enter your Social Security number, date of birth, and the Zip Code of your permanent address. You can then activate your accounts including your domain account and e-mail account. Be sure to keep track of all the information and passwords you are assigned. You will recieve your:

  • Drexel User ID: (some form of your initials plus 2 numbers)
  • Official Email Address: (in some form of your firstname.lastname@drexel.edu)
  • Your Email Password
  • Your Banner ID number and password

Do not ever share any of your passwords with anyone.

After you activate your Account you will have access to the following:

E-Mail Account:
E-mail is the primary means of communication between the school and students. For this reason, it is mandatory that all students activate and check their official University e-mail account. It is each student's responsibility to check e-mail regularly and to be sure that the mailbox has not exceeded its quota. All official school correspondence will be sent to the University e-mail account. Students may elect to obtain e-mail addresses from other sources, however, it is then their responsibility to forward the University e-mail to the external account.

Once you "Pick-up Your First Account", your e-mail account will be activated. You can immediately use the web to log into DrexelOne at http://one.drexel.edu to check
e-mail. Another way to check your e-mail on the web is by using Webmail at http://webmail.drexel.edu You can also set-up an e-mail client (such as Microsoft Outlook) on your notebook to check your mail. Check out current information on the IRT Drexel website regarding setting up your e-mail client.

DrexelOne:
DrexelOne is a web portal for Drexel students. Use your Drexel User ID and your email password to access DrexelOne. Here you will find informational messages and you can even customize the page to display the headlines and information you want. As referred to above, DrexelOne (http://one.drexel.edu) is useful to check your e-mail on the web. You can also get access to your BannerWeb account (see Banner below) through DrexelOne.

Banner:
Banner is the name of the system which holds all of your personal student information, including official grades, financial aid info, contact info and more. You can view and make changes to some of this information using BannerWeb. BannerWeb is accessable by logging into DrexelOne (see above).

Class Mailing Lists:
All medical students are automatically pre-subscribed to a class electronic mailing list based on their class and track they have chosen. The 2 lists for your class are
COM2012IFM-LIST@lists.drexel.edu and COM2012PIL-LIST@lists.drexel.edu
NOTE: These lists will NOT be activated until Orientation week.

In addition, faculty and administration may also subscribe to the lists. These lists are for internal use for College of Medicine activities only (both academic and extracurricular). They are not to be used by individuals outside the University or for any commercial purpose. You will only be able to send email to these lists using your University e-mail account. All postings from third party accounts (such as AOL, Hotmail, Comcast, Verizon) will be rejected. To see all the class lists and the rules for using them, click on the Class E-Mail Lists link on the main Webcampus Current Students page or go there directly at http://webcampus.drexelmed.edu/time/classemaillists.htm

Webcampus:
Webcampus is the short name for our medical education server which hosts all of the curriculum materials and other student resources for Year 1 through Year 4 medical students. All password protected resources on Webcampus will require your "Drexel User ID" and your "Email Password".

Links to Webcampus' main page is available thorugh DrexelOne as well as through the main College of Medicine website. However the URL is worth remembering....
