Are you wondering what life as a third year medical student might be like or what to expect during a typical day on the floors? To answer these question and more, below you will find personal daily logs from each of the clinical disciplines written by six members of the third year class. The intent of these logs is to give first and second year students a glimpse at the daily life of a third year clinical student. We asked each participant to journal a typical day from beginning to end. We asked them to include information about their daily work and how much time they have for studying, exercising, friends & family. Each of the logs is unique and un-edited. Please keep in mind that clinical experiences and schedules vary between sites, but this should give you a general idea of what you can expect. We hope you find the journals interesting and helpful as you look ahead to your clinical years.
