Michael G. Goldstein, MD is an Associate Director for Clinical Education and Research at the Bayer Institute for Health Care Communication, a non-profit foundation in New Haven, CT, that is dedicated to improving health care through enhanced clinician-patient communication. At the Institute, Michael has led efforts to develop and disseminate educational programs to train clinicians in self-management support and health behavior counseling. Michael is also an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Centers for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine at Brown Medical School, where he continues to collaborate on several research grants testing health behavior change interventions in clinical settings. Michael received his MD degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Rochester, where he also completed a fellowship in Psychosocial and Behavioral Medicine. Michael is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry and is a fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine, the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy on Physician and Patient.
