SEEPS

(Sexual Education and Empowerment Program for Students)

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:

SEEPS (Sexual Education and Empowerment Program for Students) is a seven-week program at Edison High School designed to educate 9th grade students about reproduction and sexual health, including information on sexually transmitted infections, self-empowerment and healthy relationships, and pregnancy prevention. Medical students team-teach classes in groups of three to four. Class sessions are interactive. 

Edison is located in North Philadelphia, and a large number of the students are Spanish-speakers. Medical students who are bi-lingual or conversant in Spanish are encouraged to apply.

TIME COMMITMENT:

There will be an orientation held in late-September.  The program is scheduled for seven sessions on Wednesday afternoons (exact dates to be scheduled), 1:00 – 2:45 pm, from early October until mid-December.
