Spring of 3rd Year
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Research and Schedule Audition/Away Electives, if desired
- Schedule USMLE CS & CK
- Take USMLE CS (Deadline Oct. 31st)
- Meet with Pathway or Career Advisor to discuss career plans
- Research Residency Program Deadlines and Requirements
- Have Professional Photograph taken for residency application
MAY/JUNE
- Request letters of recommendation (LoR’s) (May-Oct)
- Complete & Return MSPE (Dean’s Letter) Information Form
- Meet with Advisor to assess competitiveness, program list & plan
- Personal Statement - Finalize by August 1st
- Register for Early Match Programs (Urology)
JULY/AUGUST
- Take USMLE CK (Deadline Oct 31st)
- Obtain ERAS Token from School and Register
- Begin working on ERAS Application (ERAS Opens July 15th)
- Submit Supporting ERAS Documents (photo, letters, transcripts) to Marie Hartman (Aug-Oct)
- Track and confirm “Designated” letters received via ERAS
- Apply to Military Positions
- SF Early Match: Student collects documents (letters/transcripts)
- NRMP Registration (the Match) opens Aug 15th
SEPTEMBER
- Apply to Early Match Programs. Sept 1st Recommended Deadline
- Review MSPE and Sign Release Form
- Apply to programs via ERAS (you don’t have to wait for letters to apply)
- Recommended ERAS Application Target Deadline: Sept. 15th-Oct 1st
- Follow up on faculty letters not received
- Begin scheduling Interviews
OCTOBER
- Interview Season Begins
- MSPE’s released Oct 1st
- Promptly send Thank You notes Following Interview
- Follow up with programs concerning interview decisions
- Military Match Deadline
- Track ERAS Application via ERAS ADTS
- Meet with Advisors if you are not receiving enough interviews
- Request and Send updated transcript (only 1 update permitted)
NOVEMBER
- Interview Season Begins
DECEMBER
- Military Match Results Released
- Early Matches – Final note to top programs reiterating your continued interest
- Early Match Programs Rank Order list deadlines
JANUARY
- Early Match Programs Results Released
- Update USMLE scores (must send CK&CS)
- NRMP Ranking System (R3) opens
- Meet with Advisor to discuss your rank order list
FEBRUARY
- Send final communication to top programs reiterating your continued interest
- Submit & Certify Rank Order List
MARCH
- Match Day!
