If you already have established credit, you do not have to go into the PECO office that serves our area, your application is taken over the telephone 1 (800) 494-4000.

 

If you have not established credit, your application will still be taken over the telephone.  However, you will have to either go to the PECO office with identification or they will send you a form to fill out for identification.

 

Natural Gas

If you have never received PGW services in Philadelphia before, you will need to go to the office listed above and provide a copy of your lease and two forms of identification (one has to be a picture ID).  PGW will then do a credit check.  IF you have good credit, a deposit will not be required from you.  The amount will vary depending on the property.

 

If you have had services with PGW previously, an application will be taken over the telephone and deposit will not be required.

 

(Directions: Make a right on to Queen Lane.  Follow Queen Lane to Wissahickon Avenue.  At Wissahickon Avenue make a left and follow to Chelten Avenue.  Make a right on Chelten Avenue.  PGW will found on Chelten Avenue between Wayne and Pulaski Avenues.)

Your application will be taken over the telephone at the above number.  The operator will give you a service order number that you must take with you to a verification center.  Call the number above for the nearest verification center near you.  At the verification center you will need to have two (2) forms of ID, one (1) being a picture ID – passports and drivers licenses are acceptable picture Ids.  Once the verification process is completed, call Verizon’s toll free number again to complete the application.

 

Please get the application process started early since it can take up to three (3) days after verification of your identification for your telephone to become operable.
