Housing
The majority of the apartments are three-bedroom apartments (one room with one twin bed and two rooms with two twin beds). There is a stove and refrigerator in each apartment, but all cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes, glasses, etc. must be provided by you if you wish to cook in the apartment. There are no stereos or televisions in the apartments.
Due to the volume of students, roommate requests are not accepted.
If you do not need a room, please notify the Office of Medical Education (732-923-6790) at least two weeks before the start of the rotation. Housing is tight and your cooperation in allowing as many students as possible to attend each rotation is appreciated.
Linens
One set of bed linens and two towels are supplied weekly.
Although the bed linens and towels are provided, it is recommended
that you bring your own to ensure that you in fact have enough clean
linens.
Housekeeping
Students are responsible to keep their apartments
clean. Cleaning supplies will be provided. Please be
respectful of those who will have to occupy the apartment after
you.
Trash/Recycling
It is imperative that you take your own garbage outside to
the dumpsters; the cleaning people will not do it. The City of Long
Branch requires recycling of aluminum and tin cans, bottles and
newspaper. Please separate these items according to the instructions
in each of the apartments.
Telephones
The telephone in your apartment may be used for dialing
hospital extensions, making local calls, and billing to another
number, collect calls and credit card calls. Instructions for dialing
are located near the telephones in the apartment.
