About the Institution

Easton Hospital is a 369-bed regional referral center for the eastern Lehigh Valley and western New Jersey areas. The hospital provides primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of care in modern facilities, including a comprehensive community cancer center, rehabilitation center, and extensive ambulatory areas. Easton Hospital has approximately 12,000 inpatient admissions, 23,000 outpatient surgeries, 40,000 emergency room visits, 650 deliveries, and 15,000 outpatient clinic visits each year. A research department affiliated with Lehigh University results in substantive clinical and basic research and academic stimulation.

Easton Hospital offers residencies in internal medicine and surgery. A strong generalist emphasis prepares students for practice in today's health care settings. Provided on campus are core third-year medicine and surgery clerkships, fourth-year subinternships, and medicine and surgery specialty electives. The hospital is also a training site for Drexel University Physician Assistant program. Local nursing and therapist programs round out the educational mission of the institution.
